new reading

I just finished reading Landscape with Fragmented Figures by Jeff Vande Zande, a local author I know personally.
The book was absolutely fantastic. Jeff's writing ability is excellent and unquestionable, as each sentence flows perfectly into the next. I said the same about Stephenie Meyer's writing, but there are differences between the two. For example, Jeff elects for shorter sentence when describing emotional moments, and that, in my view, leaves a greater impact.
The plot was excellent and the ending was satisfying. I don't want to go too much into it, because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Bottom line: It was a great book that I wouldn't mind reading again.
If you want to buy this book, you can get it on amazon. However, Jeff and the smallpress that published this book will make more money if you buy it directly from the press. So, if you are going to buy the book, and I recommend that you do, please buy it here!
Jeff's first novel, Into The Desperate County, was also fantastic and I recommend you buy that one, too. You can get that here!
(Note: The last link is March Street Press. Their website is ghetto, so I can't link you directly to the buy page. That link takes you to the Home page. On the sidebar, click on "Catalog" and then find Jeff's name.)
I also encourage you to frequent Jeff's website and follow the links to some of his other books (poems and short stories) and to also learn more about him.
