About

My name is Terrance, and I'm a 23-year-old father of two beautiful children. That's always the most important thing to tell, at least in my opinion. But for those of you who wonder what I do for a living, you'll be pleased to know that I am a freelance writer, and perhaps a poor one at that. But, I keep getting paid so that's always good news!

other news & book review

I know I've been slacking quite a bit as far as this blog is concerned. Somehow, though, I manage to write at least one entry a month these days. But, don't fret, 'cause I have a good excuse.

Surprisingly, I've been doing a boat-load of freelance writing lately. One opportunity came my way, then another, then that person told another, and now I'm up to my ears in article writing, product review writing, medical writing, you name it.

It can be a bit frustrating at times, because writing is so damn hard, especially if you're obsessive compulsive like me and become more exacting each and every minute. But, I continue to be paid, so I must be doing something write...I mean, right.

Book Review

Even though I've been busy, I did manage to get some reading done. I wasn't able to find a photograph of the jacket online, and I was too lazy to take one myself. But the book is entitled Reasonable Doubt, and the author is Philip Friedman.

The book is especially riveting. The hero, Michael Ryan, is a former U.S. Attorney who, upon learning of his estranged son's murder, is out for blood. He wants the person in custody for the crime tried, convicted, and given the maximum penalty. That person just happens to be his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Ryan. The book takes a dive from "not unlike a lot of crime novels" to "whoa, hold the phone" when Jennifer Ryan asks Michael Ryan to be her lawyer.

From there, Michael Ryan does some soul searching.

It's a great book.
